Everyone surely dreams of having such a porcelain sink in their home! But then, again, due to wear and tear, busy schedules in life and a bit of procrastination, this dream borders to an impossibility. Porcelain sink resurfacing remains the most cost-effective remedy for doing away with unsightly stains, damages and cuts.
In fact, you can do this job by yourself as an opportunity to redecorate your home. It will also provide you the chance to match the color and design of your sink with your existing decor. After all, the necessary materials you need are easy to obtain and its process is really not that complicated. Here is how you can do it yourself:
1. Prepare your materials, such as, an EP acrylic topcoat; a bonding agent; medium and fine sandpapers; a protective device for your eyes; soft cloths; trisodium phosphate; a hand sander; an epoxy primer; and, a high-quality paintbrush.

2. Using the trisodium phosphate smeared on the soft cloth, clean the basin. This is readily available in hardware stores and cleans off dirt, soap layers, and similar residue build ups from the surface of the porcelain sink. With proper cleaning, the epoxy primer will stick to the surface effectively.

3. Next, attach the medium sandpapers to the hand sander clamps. Thoroughly smooth the whole sink surface, including the sides. Doing this properly will result to a rough surface for the paint to stick well. It will likewise even out small chips and scratches.

4. Follow this up with another round of sanding using the fine sandpaper. Then, remove all dusts or fragments using a moist cloth. Afterwards, evenly spread over the bonding agent thinly with a fabric. Allow it to dry for around 10 minutes. Once dry, brush evenly, and in only one direction, a light coat of the epoxy primer throughout the ceramic surface.

5. Wait for a quarter of an hour to pass before lightly sanding again the porcelain sink using a fine sandpaper. Then, clear the surface of dust once again with a moist cloth. Brush another light coating of the epoxy primer and give it a quarter of an hour to dry.

6. Finally, apply the acrylic topcoat thinly on the porcelain sink using the brush. Always paint in only one direction. Do this two more times, but allowing 15 minutes for each coat applied to dry. Then, use the sink only after a day of the resurfacing task. It should, however, be used heavily only after five days from date of resurfacing.
The next time you dream of a porcelain sink that gleams with freshness and smells heavenly is the time for you to do another sink resurfacing.
